“Underwhelmed”
is the first word on my mind
if your name followed after mine;
in company of confidence,
celebrating our dependence,
in the home of my captors.
You are the organ donor,
I am the consumer,
so your heart goes to those without
when its not healthy
to act that healthy
all the time.
If “underwhelmed”
is the last word on my mind
when your name follows after mine,
then the timelines have turned their tides
and I'm fighting for the other side;
for the home of my pastors.
Now I am the organ donor,
you are the consumer,
so my mouth shouts at those who doubt
when its not healthy
to act that healthy.
I wish you believed me,
I wish you believed
that its not healthy
to act that healthy.
I wish you believed me.
I wish you believed me.

Hidden Hand
02:40

I met Jesus
off a Baltimore bridge.
I took the left hand exit,
and it didn't make sense then, did it,
to be nowhere without a name.
I was "stranger,"
I was "drifter,"
I was "sinner," or "liar,"
for the coffee order.
And he said,
"you can't replace passion with caffeine
for the energy to care."
So I said,
"hey man, you might know where I should be going now,
but its just not fair
to keep your plan
in a hidden hand."

I Am

"I am"
is the
shortest sentence,
but the
hardest
just to admit.
So my advice
is to never take mine,
or confuse
my virtues
for my vices.
I don't mean to
run from you.
I don't mean to...
Because no one can see
the cold air sink,
heat dissipate, float, evaporate,
and freeze this bridge over.
But when have I ever
taken the easy way out?
I'm always making this more difficult,
when there's another route. I don't want to think about...
Yeah, in all ways making this more difficult,
when I'm caught up in doubt. Its just too much to think about.
I don't mean to
run from you.
And I didn't want to talk,
so guess who's shouting,
"I am who I am".

555 (Jimmy Eat World)

Written by Jim Adkins, Zach Lind, Tom Linton, and Rick Burch, as Jimmy Eat World
I keep my focus on the simple things
Trying to find some peace along the way
Wish I knew how long I'm supposed to wait
Holding on but just barely
Got the feeling I've been talking to a dead, dead line
There's always a reason to let it change
Is there anyone there listening while you cry, cry, cry?
There's always a reason for the pain
I'm doing the things I've been told every day, every day, every day
Then why does it feel like I'm moving in place, in place, in place?
Never had anything to prove
But never was anyone like you
All you fought through, all you had to face
Made you stronger, unafraid
Got the feeling I've been talking to a dead, dead line
There's always a reason to let it change
Is there anyone there listening while you cry, cry, cry?
Always a reason for the pain
I'm doing the things I've been told every day, every day, every day
Then why does it feel like I'm moving in place, in place, in place?
I gotta believe that you're there when I sing, when I sing, when I sing
'Cause if you're not real, I'm losing my head, in my head, in my head
Got the feeling I've been talking to a dead, dead line
There's always a reason to let it change
Is there anyone there listening while you cry, cry, cry?
Always a reason for the pain
I'm doing the things I've been told every day, every day, every day
Then why does it feel like I'm moving in place, in place, in place?
I gotta believe that you're there when I sing, when I sing, when I sing
'Cause if you're not real, I'm losing my head, in my head, in my head
I keep my focus on the simple things
Trying to find some peace along the way

Heaven (The Fire Theft)

Written by Jeremy Enigk as The Fire Theft
Heaven
Are you really waiting outside the door?
Never thought I'd hear the words before the road
Sever
It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp
Can't find myself in all the days that passed
But I can feel when it shines
Nevermind I'm falling in love with you
Can't find the road that runs though
Falling in love with you
Heaven
Are you really waiting outside the door?
Never thought I'd hear the words before the road
Sever
It's the simple things that are so hard to grasp
Can't find myself in all these days that pass
But I can feel when it shines
Nevermind the way they shy
Turning around along the trail
My whole world is falling in love with you
Can't find the road that runs through
Falling in love with you
Can't find the road that gets through
